It was a silly, pandering practice to begin with. Plus, it was just creepy enough to keep some women away from motorsports events, so I can’t imagine the cost/benefit has been good for at least 30 years.

We jokingly consider NASCAR to be one of the pandering, contrived racing series, but I’ll give them some credit that they don’t do this.

The sponsors/exhibitors at the races will probably keep doing it, though.

I don’t get the arguments, but I guess that might be the problem. Overall, this wasn’t a draw for me to any races, but it didn’t outright disgust me, either. I guess if women want to do it, why should they be stopped? But then there’s the argument about grid girls keeping women away from racing, which I really don’t get. I don’t let sweaty ass male racecar drivers keep me away.

In the end, I guess I’m just apathetic about it.
